Shopify CGI Video

Project Overview

This CGI video was developed as a creative concept for Shopify, blending real city footage with dynamic animation to visually represent a lively and direct digital shopping experience.
The concept features a helicopter dropping a large branded bag, which hits the ground and opens to release a colorful burst of packages and products, symbolizing the scale and variety of Shopify’s e-commerce ecosystem.

Project Execution

The project began with selecting a real urban plaza shot to serve as the base environment.
We animated a 3D helicopter with realistic movement and shadow casting to ensure it integrated naturally with the scene.
A 3D shopping bag with the Shopify logo was attached to the helicopter and animated to descend with believable weight and bounce.
We then used physics-based simulation to release dozens of boxes, toys, and digital products, which scattered across the scene through accurate collision and motion dynamics.
All elements were integrated in post-production using Blender and After Effects, with a focus on realistic lighting, shadows, object interaction, and color grading to deliver a cohesive and polished visual experience.
